Prisoners can have alcohol and drug problems but they’re needs for alcohol and drugs can be lessened by making therapy programs. There are also items known as contraband that are not allowed in your prison such as axes, shovels, scissors, screwdrivers, drills, hammers, wooden pickaxes and many other items. You can make shops allowing your prisoners to use their hard earned cash to buy items such as chocolate bars, shampoo, magazines, chips and newspapers. You can also reform prisoners by making programs such as Carpentry Apprenticeship, Foundation Education, Workshop safety induction and a couple others. There can also be kitchen fires if you enable “Events” in your prison, but I didn’t think that was too bad either. Although there is minor blood when prisoners or guards do fight I honestly didn’t think it was too bad. Let your child select the options they want for their new prison and then click “Play”. After the introduction cutscene plays, press ESC and click “Create new Prison”. I would recommend skipping the tutorial for your child as there is partial nudity and some swearing. I bought the game for myself to see what it was like and did the tutorial. I bought this game for my son a few days ago and he absolutely loves it. The game is fun once you get the hang of it, and if you are getting lots of violence in your prison, you are doing something wrong. In conclusion, Prison Architect is ok for teens, as long as you tell them not to go through the tutorial. Also, there is NO sexual content ANYWHERE in the game except for the tutorial, where even there does not have anything that is overly sexual or with gore.

Swear words and very few and far between, and by the way they are ALL censored, so there is nothing to worry about when it comes to that. The game is about building foundations and designating rooms for use by prisoners and staff, along with starting programs for prisoner reform. From my experience, this game encourages reforming the prisoners, and if there are programs for the prisoners to take part in, there is almost no violence and prisoners don't reoffend (do crimes again) I decided to give this a go and see how good I could do with it, and a few hours later I got the hang of it. He then said that they were paid for their work and could get things from the shop. He showed me around and told me that the prisoners worked in the kitchen, laundry rooms and were cleaning up the prison. He had shops and classrooms and libraries, it was amazing to see how quickly such a huge prison can be built. A week later, I saw my son's prison and it was massive.

Once I set hay rule, my son had so much fun in the sandbox mode. I had heared that the tutorial was not very good and had some storyline that was not appropriate. I had reserched the game and decided it would be fine as long as he didn't do the tutorial.
